Shark's Cove is on the island of Oahu. It is located on the north shore
of the island. It was named Shark's Cove because white tip sharks, usually
hang out there. These sharks should not be harassed in any way. Shark's
Cove is a beautiful beach where you can see all different types of marine
life in there natural environment. There are lots of sea turtles that can
be found swimming in the cove. There are also different types of moray
eels that live in the cracks of the reef. There are large lava tubes underwater.
These tubes can be very dangerous if entered without the proper training.
The depth is about 40ft.The dive plan is set for 45 minutes at a bottom
depth of 40ft. The best time to dive there is when the seas are calm, usually from
March to October as you can see the picture on the top left. The winter
is almost impossible to dive, do to the large surf as shown in the picture
in the middle. The winter time is usually the best time to check out the
large waves that hit the north shore and the conditions are not good for
diving. The temperature ranges for 70-75f. (21-24c.).The visibility averages
about 80ft |
