 My name is Matt. I grew up on the island of Oahu on the south shore. I
lived in a house right next to the beach. It made it very easy to go surfing
and swimming everyday. That's where my love for the ocean grew very strong.
After graduating from high school, I took a part time job at a dive company
named Dan's Dive Shop. This was in January 1986. There I started as tank
air filler. I met a lot of different people there, some which were very
knowledgeable in the ocean's eco system. I later worked my way up to the
General Manager and then came a Scuba Instructor of this company. In May
of 1998 the owner of Dan's Dive Shop retired the company and that's when
I started my own company called Grand Blue. I enjoy very much meeting new
people from different parts of the world and learning the conditions from
which they dive. Also I enjoy teaching people how to scuba dive. I'm a
people person. I‘ve been in the business for 17 years. So I think pretty
much I can call myself a professional. |
