Hawaiian Name: Humuhumunukunuku-a-pua'a This fish is known as the Hawaii State Fish. This fish can be seen in shallow
water. The Hawaiian name means nose like a pig and when these fishes get
pulled out of the water, they make noises like a pig grunting. Thesefishes
have very sharp teeth and can usually bite when threatened. These fishes
are very aggressive if kept in an aquarium and do not usually make good
fish mates. They grow to about 10 inches long. |
