Our second dive site is called Turtle Canyons. This dive site is located
offshore from Waikiki. Turtle Canyons was formed along time ago by the
volcanoes that once erupted here. The reef branches out like fingers. The
name was given because this dive site has a lot of sea turtles that live
there. On the average day you'll see at least 6 to 8 turtles swimming around.
This dive site also has a lot of spotted puffer fishes. They swim right
beside you following your every move. Here you'll also see a lot of octopus.
They live in the many holes that are in the reef. These creatures are said
to be the smartest creatures in the ocean. There are a lot of different species of fish here
too. Some are very colorful and some have very interesting shapes. You'll
see different types of shells here, some of which are very expensive. Moray
eels are also in abundance here. They live in the coral reefs. This dive
plan is set for 45 minutes of bottom time at 45ft.The boat ride is approximately
10 minutes from the Caroline Shipwreck. |
